Issue Brief: Gun Control

Are you safer because you are allowed to own a gun, or do guns make you less safe? Should people be allowed to carry guns anywhere for protection? Do you feel the same way about more powerful weapons, such as machine guns?

The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution includes the right to bear arms: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
