Should schools have the right to punish students for behavior that happens outside of school? The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects freedom of speech. It states: “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press...” What is freedom of speech? Freedom of speech means you can say and write what you want as long as you don't put other people in danger. Movies, TV shows, and websites are all types of speech. |
