It is the 1990’s. People are very worried about gun violence. Congress passes the Assault Weapons Ban. It forbids Americans from owning guns like AK-47s and Uzis.

The Assault Weapons Ban does not put an end to gun violence. In 1999, two students at Columbine High School in Colorado bring many guns to school. They kill twelve other students and one teacher. The attack at Columbine creates more debate about the need for gun control.
