The U.S. is one of only a few countries where people have freedom of speech. There are some limits to free speech in the United States. The First Amendment does not protect fighting words or violent protests. 

Does the First Amendment protect a student’s right to free speech during activities outside of school? Or should schools be able to discipline students for behavior they think is disruptive and inappropriate?
