It is now 2010. You get information from television and the Internet. Illinois, California, and other states just passed laws to stop people under eighteen years old from buying violent video games. The video game companies say that these laws go against their freedom of speech. Courts in Illinois and California rule in favor of the video game companies. They say that video game companies have a First Amendment right to sell games to children. The lawmakers say that these games are harmful to children and only adults should buy these games. They say violent video games cause kids to be violent.
